Encoders are the position-feedback heart of every closed-loop servo and vector drive — and the second most frequently replaced part after the drive itself. A faulty encoder shows up as position drift, runaway speed or alarm codes (AL.37 on Yaskawa, A.870 on Siemens), and it is almost always cheaper to replace the encoder than the motor. Cables and connectors are the other high-volume wear items: servo power cables flex millions of cycles on robot arms, and M12 sensor cables fail from vibration and water ingress.

Can you match an encoder from the motor nameplate alone?

In most cases yes — send us the motor MPN and drive model; we identify the encoder type, PPR, interface and shaft, and confirm before shipping.

Do servo power cables need to be flex-rated for robot arms?

Yes — fixed-installation cables crack under continuous flexing. We supply flex-rated cables rated for 5-10 million cycles.

How do I know if my M12 cable is the failure point?

Check continuity pin-by-pin and look for intermittent contact when wiggling the connector — we can also supply a pre-made replacement to A/B test.
